BCC, Please.

So I received an email from a beloved college friend today.  This friend sent me a really GREAT and Motivating email!…me along with about 100 other people, I know because-we were all in the TO and CC section.  I even saw that my name was a “nick-name” of mine-not my actual name.

While this list of names and email addresses may be little more than a way for a nosy person to see who you have in your inbox(all my Sorors), it puts everyone that you send this email to in a vulnerable position.

Let the SPAM begin.

When you send an email to several people at one time it is really best to use an email service like Constant Contact or Mail Chimp.  However, if you do not opt to use one of these services make sure that you DO at least place all recipients in the BCC field, make sure that all of the email addresses are NOT available to other people.  Protect your list for your friends, family or clients sake AND for yourself…you do NOT want somebody “sharking through” your contacts and taking them for themselves.  Be prudent about your communication.
